What can we do with the ceiling of our 1986 buick regal?

Our gpa recently gave me and my cousins a 1986 buick regal to practice driving in, but the ceiling of the roof is like rotted out.. Should we just take it out? Is there something we can replace it with? thanks for the help!|||Remove the headliner with its fiber board panel. Remove all the headliner material and scrub off any remaining foam particles from the fiberboard, I used 3m scrubbing pads.

JO-Ann fabrics carries headliner material. Buy 4 cans of automotive spray glue. Spray the fiber board and the back of the new headliner material. Use two coats of glue.

Make sure you pre fit the new material. Trim the excess after gluing|||that cloth is notorious 4 deter. u can find some at ur local junk yard but i always pulled em out and painted the inside.|||Many upholstery shops can replace the ceiling cover of most cars. You would best see someone do this job before you try it yourself. There are some tricky problems to deal with in keeping the material neat and clean. If you found an identical ceiling in a salvage yard, you could expect to find problems with the salvage ceiling as well. Very possible that there is a moisture problem in many of the regal models.|||you can get a new headliner installed at an upholster shop
