When a buick lasabre headlight goes out, do I replace the whole headlight or just the light bulb?

2004 Buick Lasabre Question:

when a buick lasabre headlight goes out, do I replace the whole headlight or just the light bulb?

Is it prefered to let a mechanic do this or is it simple for a nonmechanic to do?

What is the average price to replace the light? Thanks.|||You can change just the bulb on your car. The cost will vary depending on what bulb it takes as there are many different styles, but it will definitely be more than $2. It will probably be closer to $10. This is something you could do yourself. If you get a bulb at a parts store they might change it for you if you ask them to, some parts stores do that.|||if you're able to replace just the bulb then do that yourself and you're looking at about $2 or less for the bulb.

if you find that you have to replace the headlight then you're looking at about $89 and up for the headlight (depends on where you buy it) and probably another $40-$50 for labor. If you have experience changing out a headlight, then I'd do it myself but if you have never done it before then you may want to hire someone to do it and watch them so when the other light goes you can do it yourself.
