78 buick riviera electrical problem wont start after i cut it off?

my 78 buick riviera wont start after i cut it off, but if i charge the battery it starts. new battery and new alternator, what could be wrong??

It might be an electrical gremlin but trying to find out what else before i get into that.|||If the starter does not have the heat shield to protect it from heat of the engine that starter over heating may not start after getting hot.|||bad battery cables i have seen a bad positive cable cause problem when car engine hot and i have seen bad ground cable.if battery cables is old they causes high resistance in starting circuit causing no start problems.|||There should be a charge wire from the alt to the battery cable + terminal.could be on battery end it will have fusible link in it, pull on it, if it stretches like a rubber band it is burnt up.This wire could hook on to the starter solenoid with the battery cable, this is harder to get to.You can put a jumper wire from alt. battery term.to + battery terminal, drive it that way, if the battery stays up you know you found the problem.I think this will evict your gremlins.
